Raymond Joseph Borgmann
11/28/1930 - 12/12/2009





Cedar City-


Raymond Joseph Borgmann- 79, died Saturday, Dec. 12 at home in Cedar City,  after a long, courageous battle with cancer.


He was born Nov. 28, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Joseph Borgmann and Maria Stoffel Borgmann.  He graduated from Riverside High School and Marquette University and was a paratrooper in the U. S. Army.  On April 11, 1964, he married Emilie Hromada in Milwaukee, and they later moved to Utah and California through his engineering jobs with AC Sparkplug and Delco Electronics.


Ray was a “tinkerer” with a wide variety of interests and hobbies.  He was an avid skier and tennis player and he loved camping with his family.


He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Emilie of Cedar City; Daughters; Ann (Todd) Bequette of Milton, Wisconsin, and Lori (Marc) DeRome of Sunland, California; Grandson: Mark Fiore of Milton, WI, Sister; Eleanor (Frank-deceased) Scaffidi of Mequon, WI. And many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.


He was preceded in death by his Parents; his Brother, Paul; and his Brother in Law; Frank Scaffidi.


A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, Dec. 17 in the St. George Catholic Church.


Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 4-6 PM at the Swindlehurst Funeral Home, 2113 No Main, Cedar City. Rosary will be held at 5:00 PM.


Ray’s family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who took such good care of him.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Southern Utah Home Care and Hospice via the Garth B. Last Foundation, 337 S. Main St., Suite 210, Cedar City, Utah, 84720.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Ray was a good friend and a very good man. I always looked forward to his handwritten CHristmas letter. He had a way with words. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Ann, So sorry to read in the paper about the loss of your father. Our parents are truly a gift and I cherish mine. I know it's been a very long time since our days at Marquette, but when I saw the obit and read on, knew I had to send my sympathy and say that I hope you are doing well. Take care, my prayers are with you and your family.
